Visit the Museum of history- Batak, to learn more! The chronology of events and the inherent rights of freedom of every nation turned Batak into Golgotha of the April Uprising of 1876. The story of the uprising was short and tragic. But its fate brought the Bulgarian people on the world historical stage. The Batak massacre not only presented the Bulgarian tragedy to the world, but it showed the world that there is a Bulgarian nation. And this is why Batak and its contribution to the announcement of the Russo-Turkish War of 1877-1878 are of such great historical significance.
