Kyustendil Region
The Kyustendil region is located in Southwest Bulgaria and borders with Macedonia and Serbia. Traditionally, the area is known for its fruit-growing and viticulture. Nature in the region is unique and most of all the mountainous part attracts many visitors. The Skakavitsa waterfall (70 meters), the Rila National Park and the Rila Monastery are destinations that are highly preferred by tourists and Bulgarians. The mineral springs in the region also create prerequisites for the development of balneological tourism.

Rila Monastery
Rila Monastery is one of the symbols of Bulgaria. Rila holy cloister was founded in the first half of the 10th century. Its history is directly related to St. Ivan of Rila, the first Bulgarian hermit, who settled in the region and devoted his life to fasting and prayers.
The Seven Rila Lakes
The Seven Rila Lakes, located in the northwestern Rila Mountains, are glacial lakes. They are scattered at the foot of a massive cirque.
