Varna Region
Varna Region is located in the eastern part of the Danube Plain and includes parts of South Dobrudzha, the easternmost parts of the Fore Balkan and Stara Planina Mountains.
Varna is a multipurpose transport center of international importance. The Varna Airport connects with 35 countries and 101 cities around the world, while Port Varna is a major logistics and distribution center.
In Varna District there are 5 universities, 3 colleges with over 30 000 students and 5 significant research institutes. Industry and agriculture are also well developed.
Varna region offers excellent conditions for cultural, balneological and eco tourism. The preferred Black Sea resorts are St. St. Constantine and Helena, Golden Sands, Riviera, Sunny Day, Kamchia and others.

Regional Historical Museum Varna
The archaeological museum shows original finds from the Paleolithic Age /about 100 000 years BC/ to the Middle Ages /7th – 8th/ century, many of which are of great significance to the archaeology of Europe and the world. The largest Mesolithic collection of flint tools in South-East Europe, the largest collections of ancient terracotta, tombstone reliefs, lamps and glass vessels in Bulgaria are placed here.
