It is the first in Bulgaria Museum of Contemporary History.Today in the Museum can be seen artifacts from the Neolithic period to modern times, located in four exhibition halls. The hall “Brigade movement in Bulgaria” is the only one of its kind in Bulgaria and it reflects a complex and controversial period in the recent past of Bulgaria – 1945-1990, the Brigade uniforms, flags, awards, photos of the brigade life and others, showing the history of this movement and immerse the visitors in the spirit of the time. The hall “Dimitrovgrad” follows the construction of one of the youngest towns in Bulgaria turned, during the 50 years of the twentieth century, into a symbol of socialism. The hall “Archaeology” displays artifacts from the life of the villages of the Municipality of Dimitrovgrad, some of which have a continuous development from the Neolithic period (VI BC) until today. Part of the fund of the museum is the Neolithic man, discovered in 2009 during rescue archaeological excavations of the medieval settlement in the area Kar Dere near the Dimitrovgrad village Krum. The skeleton is part of the Neolithic cult cemetery complex, which is unique in Bulgaria and neighboring countries. Exactly this is what makes it unique from scientific and exhibition points of view. The exhibition hall of the museum is a place for diverse and attractive exhibitions, as from its fund, as well as from guest exhibitions from other museums and other institutions.
