Pazardzhik Region
Pazardzhik is a developed agricultural and industrial area in the western part of the Upper Thracian Plain, which also covers the Pazardzhik and Plovdiv fields, parts of the Western Rhodopes, Rila and Sredna Gora Mountains. Rich in water resources, the region is fertile and agriculture is well developed.
Pazardzhik region has an abundance of cultural and historical monuments. Numerous nations such as Thracians, Romans, Slavs, Proto-Bulgarians, Byzantines, Turks and Bulgarians have inhabited the region in the past 2000 years and left behind a rich cultural heritage.

Historical Site Oborishte – Town of Panagyurishte
In the historical site Oborishte in 1976 the first Grand National Assembly in Bulgaria’s history was conducted, which made the decision for the announcement of the April Uprising. The aim of the uprising was to free Bulgaria from the five-century Ottoman Dominion.
